Traditional Romagna cuisine meets the creative flair of our chef

In a historic setting dating back to the 1600s, the Locanda Antiche Macine restaurant in Santarcangelo di Romagna offers dishes with traditional flavors expertly reinterpreted in a modern key. Excellent cuisine that draws on the gastronomic culture of our trusted chef Giuseppe Russo.

Locanda Antiche Macine's menu reintroduces the typical flavors of Romagna cuisine such as fresh pasta and homemade piadina, both rolled out with a rolling pin in the old tradition. Barbecued meats and Sangiovese wine are also always on our menu, flanked by new and elaborate dishes in an effort to enhance the Romagna tradition. Typicality and refinement are the key words of our dishes.

Our chef Giuseppe Russo will delight you with tasty recipes appropriately elaborated according to the season and the availability of fresh produce. He will take you on a food and wine journey to discover the traditional flavors of Romagna cuisine, revisited in a modern and creative way. Our cuisine is simple but special at the same time: it conveys passion, elegance and quality.

Raw materials
The raw materials for our cuisine come mostly from our Farm: fruits, vegetables, meat and wine are of the highest quality, authenticity and freshness. Our chef loves to delight guests by personally preparing healthy jams, tasty mustards, tomato puree, pickles, nocino, cedrina and many treats for guests' breakfast as well.

Buffet
Those who prefer a more informal and tasty meal will find the Locanda Antiche Macine offers a buffet formula. Upon request, we organize dinner aperitif (Apericena) buffets full of dishes from our land with items coming from local sources, appetizers, delicacies and fresh fruit to enjoy in the company of others. We adapt the buffet to your needs: we also create vegan and vegetarian dishes. Our buffet proposal is formulated for a minimum of 30 people.

Wine cellar
The inn offers a wide selection of local wines: reds, whites, sparkling and raisin wines that are carefully selected and kept in our cellar. We prefer labels from our region, with particular attention to native grape varieties such as Albana, Pagadebit, Rebola and the wine par excellence of Romagna: Sangiovese. Let our staff advise you on the ideal pairing for a spectacular tasting!
